Bermuda Police RFC 5 - Montreal Irish RFC 31

The score is as I remember it, though there are numerous reasons why my memory is not what it might be. Suffice it to say, this was another great visit from our friends in Bermuda who always bring the party with them.

The game was a good solid performance with some hard drives and crunching tackles but always in the best of spirits. It was also the first time most of our supporters will have seen the new-look, skin-tight jerseys which may have led to a few of the fainter hearted swooning in admiration for the hot physiques that were on display. Massimo made it out as well, though I have no comment to make about his physique...

The game ended 31-5 in favour of the MIRFC but if this implies a one sided game I can assure you that the events on the field were a lot closer than the score would imply.

It is possible that Bermuda's failure to dominate the Irish during the game was the result of a shortage of players and an excess of beer the night before but the result of the boat race after the match also went the MIRFCs way and is now captured for ever on YouTube.

A big thank you to all the lads from Bermuda (even the ones with the wrong kind of Antipodean accent) and especially Ken O'Shea for his contribution in Gaelic. I know the bar tenders of Montreal will remember them for a while to come.
